Print Production Specialist – Large Format & CNC

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Print Production Specialist with proven experience in large format printing and CNC finishing. The right candidate will have hands-on expertise with Caldera RIP software, Colex routers, and AFI flatbed printers, along with deep knowledge of large format substrates. Your Goal

What You'll Be Tasked With

  • Operate, image, and cut a wide range of substrates including acrylic, Sintra/Palight, foam board, PVC, ACM, wood, and metals.
  • Run and maintain EFI flatbed printer(s) (UV), ensuring consistent, high-quality output.
  • Use Caldera RIP software for efficient workflow management, file preparation, and color accuracy.
  • Operate and maintain Colex router(s), performing precise cutting, routing, and finishing work.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, keep devices clear of debris, and troubleshoot both hardware and software issues.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and pivoting based on urgency.
  • Collaborate with production, prepress, and administrative teams to ensure flawless execution.
  • Recommend substrates and finishing solutions for unique or challenging applications.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of substrates, inks, and consumables; order router bits, knives, mats, lubricants, solvents, and other supplies.
  • Keep production and work areas clean, safe, and organized for alternating shifts.
  • Suggest and implement alternative solutions when material shortages occur.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years’ experience in large format printing & CNC finishing (required).
  • Proficiency with Caldera RIP software, Colex router operation, and AFI flatbed printing equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of substrate handling and finishing, especially acrylic, Sintra/Palight, foam board, PVC, ACM, and wood.
  • Familiarity with color management workflows, including linearization and calibration of solvent and UV ink devices.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative production team.
  • On site event and/or event production experience is a plus
  • Experience with digital toner-based imaging, bindery, vinyl production/finishing, cold lamination, and various materials also a plus.
